Meanwhile I'm celebrating my valentine on February 16th with le boo (we decided to let today just roll by). We are gonna be serenaded by my other boo, the very soulful singer, Maxwell. It's gonna be a goosebumps fest hearing him live.. can't wait. He will be performing live in Lagos on Saturday.

Alice asked: My bridesmaids all have different styles which I absolutely love in all their beautiful diversity. I will actually hate to prep them up in my own idea of what a bridesmaids dress should look like. I love all their styles and will like for their style to still shine through at my wedding while still looking colour co-ordinated and a beautiful part of the wedding.

Annie Macaulay and Tuface Idibia wedding to hold in Dubai

The date has been confirmed. Annie and Tuface will wed on March 23, 2013 at a destination wedding in Dubai. For some reason I'm so happy, not like I was invited to the wedding o!

Annie confirmed the news via her facebook page

Annie had earlier this year gone to Dubai to look at venues. The details of the wedding are really quiet at the moment but we hear they plan to fly a few of their friends to Dubai to share their special day with them.


Can't wait to see wedding photos. She will make a very beautiful bride.

Tiwa Savage and manager, Tee Billz are engaged

After weeks of wedding speculations, fuelled by the couple's recent vacay in Dubai (which many thought was their honeymoon), Tiwa Savage's boyfriend and manager Tee billz have popped the question and of course we know she said Yes.

Tee billz decided to propose to the sultry singer at her birthday party at Eko Hotel and Suites in front of family and close friends yesterday.

#Throwback Thursday: Kanu Nwankwo and his wife Amara's wedding pictures

Our throwback wedding of the day is Kanu Nwankwo's wedding. Nicknamed "Papilo" by his peers, the Nigerian footballer and former Super Eagles captain got married to Amarachi in a lavish ceremony (it was very lavish at the time) in Owerri in 2004. I remember how the media was reporting Kanu's wedding then, it even made national news. Dignitaries from far and near came en masse to honour the footballer.

Wedding Dress Cover-ups

I love watching bridal shows like 'Brides of Beverly Hills' and 'Say Yes to the Dress' both on TLC Network (Channel 172 DSTV, if you live in Nigeria). It's just amazing how many beautiful dresses are available in so many different styles and very high price tags, I must add.

 I was watching a particular episode of Brides of Beverly Hills, when a bride-to-be tried on the most beautiful dress I've seen yet. It had swarovski crystals, intricate beading, a ruched waist and a very full skirt. It was the kind of dress I had envisioned walking down the aisle in but the problem was, as with many other dresses I've fallen in love with, my dream dress happened to be strapless.

This didn't faze me because this particular dress had me converted. I resolved to put in hours in the gym to tone my arms and starve myself till I get to the right weight to pull off the dress then my sister mentioned to me "but you know you can't wear a strapless wedding dress in church" Dang! It felt like a bucket of ice cold water had been poured on me.

Many brides are in the same dilemma. If you are having a church wedding in this clime, it is very unlikely that your church will agree to wed you in a strapless wedding gown. Most marriage institutions in Nigeria require a measure of modesty when you are getting married. This is why you need a cover-up

Cover-ups need not be frumpy. A good cover-up should switch a dress from simple to elegant, from regular to glam, from beautiful to classic and from nollywood to hollywood (lol just kidding)

I've listed the different cover-ups below. Find the one that is really 'you'

Sleeves- These are the most popular cover-ups. They can either be detachable or sewn in. Sleeves are comfortable and fuss-free. Good sleeves should come in sheer fabric so that it wont drown the dress.

The Awards season is back! Yippee!

This time around the Golden Globes really upped the ante for 2013 awards season. What caught my eyes this time around was the wedding inspired, Hollywood retro glam thingy going on on the red carpet. Many of the styles were inspired by the Victorian era, the 1930s and the 1940s. High necks, sleeves, lace and vintage embellishments were popular choices.
